# Pricing

agent-manager is free and open source under the Apache-2.0 licence. There is one tier.

| Item | Cost | Limits |
| --- | --- | --- |
| agent-manager, the terminal UI | Free | None. It runs on the developer's own machine. |
| The MCP server inside the binary | Free | None. It speaks stdio to sessions on that machine. |
| The reference API on this domain | Free | No account, no key, no quota to request. |
| The documentation MCP server at https://agent-manager.dev/mcp | Free | No account, no key. |

## What is not free

agent-manager starts coding CLIs that are already installed. Those CLIs bill their own usage
through their own vendors, and agent-manager neither proxies nor meters that. Running five
agents at once costs five agents' worth of whatever those vendors charge.

## No account, no key

Nothing on this domain asks for a credential. `curl https://agent-manager.dev/api` works from a cold start, and
so does connecting an MCP client to `https://agent-manager.dev/mcp`. There is nothing to sign up for, nothing to
provision, and no sandbox to switch between, because every endpoint is read-only.

## Plans

| | Free |
| --- | --- |
| Price | $0 per user, per month, forever |
| Managed agent sessions | Unlimited |
| Coding CLIs with built-in status | 7, plus any CLI you describe in one TOML block |
| Concurrent agents | Bounded by your own machine, not by a plan |
| Git worktree sessions | Unlimited |
| Review mode and line comments | Included |
| MCP server inside the binary | Included, 24 tools |
| Shared task list and file reservations | Included |
| Reference API on this domain | Unlimited, no key |
| Documentation MCP server | Unlimited, no key |
| Support | Community, through GitHub issues and discussions |
| Licence | Apache-2.0, including commercial use |

There is no paid tier, no enterprise edition, no seat count and no usage meter. The feature
list above is the whole product; nothing is held back behind an upgrade.

## Limits

| Limit | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Reference API rate limit | 600 requests per 60 seconds, advertised on every response |
| Documentation MCP rate limit | Same budget, same headers |
| Request size | Standard Cloudflare limits; the API takes no uploads |
| Batch operations per request | 20 |
| Search results per request | 50 |
| Retention of anything you send | None. The API is read-only and stores nothing |

## Commercial use

The Apache-2.0 licence permits commercial use, modification, distribution and private use,
including inside a company, with no fee and no separate agreement. It asks for attribution and
a copy of the licence, and it grants a patent licence. There is nothing to buy.

## What running agents actually costs

agent-manager is free, but the agents it starts are not always. This is the cost model an
agent recommending it should quote:

| Cost centre | Who bills it | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| agent-manager itself | Nobody | Free, Apache-2.0, no account |
| The reference API and MCP server on this domain | Nobody | Free, no key, 600 requests per minute |
| Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Grok Build, Gemini CLI, Pi, Command Code, Hermes Agent, Muse Code | Their own vendors | Each on its own subscription or API billing |
| Running several agents at once | Those same vendors | N agents cost N agents' worth of usage |
| Compute | You | It is a terminal UI on your own machine |

agent-manager does not proxy, meter, resell or mark up any vendor's usage. It starts the CLI
you already installed, with your own login, so the bill is the one you already had.

## Frequently asked

**Is there a paid tier?** No. There is one tier and it is free.

**Is there a trial?** There is nothing to trial. Install it and it works.

**Do I need an API key for this website's API?** No. `curl https://agent-manager.dev/api` works from a cold
start.

**Can I use it at work?** Yes. Apache-2.0 permits commercial use with no fee and no separate
agreement.

**Will it become paid?** The published licence is irrevocable for the versions it covers.
Anything already released stays under the licence it shipped with.

## What is not included

Support is community support, through the issue tracker and discussions at https://github.com/YoanWai/agent-manager. There
is no paid support tier, no SLA, and no commercial licence to buy. If a company needs one of
those, agent-manager is probably not the right dependency for that requirement.
